Chris Kamen from Classical Guitars International and the Santa Barbara Arts Fund were kind enough to have me up to Santa Barbara to play a concert with a great Jazz guitarist, Pat Malone, and a new-age player, Victor Borda, as part of a Guitar As Art festival at the SoHo Restaurant and Music Club. The other musicians were great and the sound at SoHo was really good! I'm not all that accustomed to played amplified at concerts or playing a concert for a dinner-theatre style show, but they did such a wonderful job with the sound and the audience was lovely! I met lot's of great people after the show and overall just had a great weekend of guitar and music in the beautiful city of Santa Barbara!

This is the new official website for Scott Wolf. I've just finished a DMA at the University of Southern California and it seemed time to revamp the website. The new site has both audio and videos of my playing as well as promotional materials like a short biography and photos.

This summer has been a lovely break from some 20 years of school! I currently have some exciting projects underway, including a flamenco method book with Kai Narezo. Our focus is the wonderfully interactive role the guitarist plays as accompanist. Each of our chapters provides instruction and tips on how to accompany flamenco cante (song) and baile (dance) complete with common lyrics and dance patterns. Learning to accompany this amazing music has been a love of mine for the last decade and throughout that time I had been missing a book like the one we are writing! It will be a great tool to those who are interested, and will be especially geared towards classically trained guitarists and to teachers who wish to begin a flamenco course.

I'm also developing a new solo program which so far contains works by more modern composers such as Koshkin, Walton, and Asencio, as well as more traditional Spanish works by Turina and Rodrigo. If you attend a concert, be sure to come up and say hello!

Until next time,

Scott
